I had not seen the large bean structure before. It is such a juxtaposition, as it is placed next to buildings that are straight and ordered as usual, and the bean is curved, and it has a non-standard foundation. At a first look, it stands out very much, but one would have to assume that people in the city where it is barely notice it after some time living there. I’m glad you enjoyed the Bean. Chicago is a great city for public art. It seems like you missed the Crown Fountain though. That’s also a fun, interactive public art piece. It’s in the same park as the Bean. You’ll just have to come back.

Yes, I did some photography in the freezing cold last night, and it’s no fun. Going in mid-August meant that the temperatures were just right. Not too hot, not too cold. I was lucky in many ways.

Thanks for the virtual tour of some of Chicago’s sights.
We’d love to get back to Chicago–we’d especially love to go during warmer weather as the few times we’ve gone have been around Thanksgiving (I just put up a few photos from our last Chicago trip on my blog today).
