@steve4322

I’m really glad you enjoyed the article, Steve.

@Rachel

And let me know when you blog about your trip to Chicago it so I can read all about it!

@Jodi

Yeah the resemblance is completely inexplicable. Perhaps Jackson saw this sculpture and was inspired? I wonder how long it’s been on display…

@Cheralyne

I’m sorry but it seems I didn’t get that information when I visited the museum. This is actually quite rare as I typically photograph the informational panels beside whatever artifacts I photograph. Perhaps you’d have better luck emailing the Field Museum and linking to the photo you have a question about. And could you please let me know what you find out? Thanks!

@Jacob &
@Ashley

Thanks! I really enjoyed it!

The Field Museum is an amazing educational experience and you captured it well! The T Rex on the first floor is only the beginning of the vast historical artifacts inside.

Could you please tell me the name of the artifact that looks like Michael Jackson, its origin, and who the archeologist is that found it and donated it to the museum.

Thanks

In light of Michael Jackson's untimely death I googled "Chicago Field Museum Michael Jackson" and found your blog. My husband and I were at the museum in August 2007 and saw the same sculpture and took a picture of it as well. When we got home my husband downloaded it along with a picture of Michael Jackson as a side by side comparison. I'm surprised I haven't found more similar posts on the Internet!! It looks exactly like him!!! I remember saying I wondered if he'd seen this and used as his model for plastic surgeries. I don't mean any disrespect, but the resemblance is uncanny!!

I love your blog writing -- you captured the Field Museum perfectly. If you are looking for other less costly ideas for Chicago touring, you may also want to check out the website called Free Things to Do in Chicago. It is a site that is focused on spreading the word to citizens and visitors on all the free things there are to do in Chicago.

Yeah! Isn't the Michael Jackson sculpture just inexplicable?

Yes, I'd definitely recommend going during the week. I went on a Thursday in August and the crowd was surprisingly thin, especially in the afternoon.
