"To me, this painting and its title seem to refer to the passage of people through the West," says former Denver Art Museum curator Ann Daley, "Native Americans, trappers, explorers, miners, all of them have passed through the West, and the land stays the same. On the left, you see the landscape, and on the right, the disintegration of a manmade building."
