Ancient Incense Burners

Date: 2008/Aug/21 Thu

Most of these incense burners are jadeite.

Jadeite is chemically different from nephrite. It is also found in a wider range of colors, including lavender and blue shades. Green jadeite can be particularly brilliant. The Chinese call very bright green jadeite "kingfisher" jade, after the bird's vivid green feathers.
