Unwrapped Boy Mummy
Date: 2008/Aug/21 Thu
This unwrapped mummy is the body of a boy.
We don't know when or why his wrappings were removed. Before x-ray photography became available at the turn of the century, mummies were often unwrapped simply to see what was inside. This mummy may have been unwrapped here at the Museum, or he may have come to us this way.
