Circular 12in Pentium 4 wafer
Each of the Pentium 4 processors on this wafer contains 42 million transistors. While Intel's first products on 12-inch wafers had circuit lines as narrow as 130 nanometers (a nanometer is one billionth of a meter), by 2002 the company was starting to make circuit lines 90 nanometers wide. Be continuing to shrink line widths, Intel makes every new product generation faster than the last.
