Caiman Lizard looking out
Date: 2008/Aug/19 Tue
This tangled mat of roots and stems makes a perfect nursery for thousands of baby fish. It has lots of places for the fish to hide and plenty of tiny plants, animals, and algae to eat.
Caiman lizards cruise through floating meadows and flooded forests, hunting aquatic snails to eat. They crush the snails shells with their strong jaws. Look for caiman lizards swimming through the floating plants or basking on the bank.
