Elite proxies sound like another type of proxy, but in practice, it’s an industry or marketing term that refers to the proxy level of anonymity (i.e., high-anonymity proxies).
It’s still a proxy that routes traffic or requests through another server with an IP address coming from any proxy type, but it strips all the parts that make your traffic appear to come from a proxy and also hides your original IP from the site you’re making a request to.
In practice, lower-tier anonymous proxies usually still transmit headers such as X-Forwarded-For or Via, which tip off the destination server that a proxy is involved. Elite proxies omit all of these headers entirely, so the target server sees a request that looks identical to one coming from a normal, everyday user.
That makes it useful when it comes to web scraping and automation, as some websites may instantly block your traffic, especially if it appears to come from one IP. Depending on your providers, you usually have access to a large pool of IPs, allowing you to rotate multiple of them IPs while hiding your original IP.
So it may look like you're sending multiple requests from different devices that appear to be normal traffic, reducing the chances of getting blocked or rate-limited on a website that uses more advanced detection systems.
