IPv4 Proxies Explained

Why do IPv4 proxies still work everywhere when IPv6 often does not?

Almost all public internet destinations work seamlessly with IPv4 proxies because it’s the web’s default compatibility layer. The IPv4 standard was created in 1981, and modern web servers and systems continue to expect IPv4 traffic.

The reason has to do with what an IPv4 proxy is. It is one of the intermediary services that directs your traffic through a server with an IPv4 address. The destination will see the more universally recognized IPv4 address as opposed to your original IP, thus allowing the request to work with an infrastructure designed with IPv4.

IPv6 can also operate effectively and economically for large-volume tasks, but only if the destination fully supports IPv6. If the end destination does not support it, then the size of the proxy pool is irrelevant. The request fails before the proxy's quality can even be assessed.

This is why IPv4 remains the de facto standard for scraping and automation, as well as for testing and account or workflow management.

Benefits

What Can You Expect From Our IPv4 Proxies?

benefit
Universal Reach, Fewer Failures
IPv4 is the standard the web still runs on, so your requests reach large sites, older services, and payment or login APIs that other setups often can't handle reliably.
benefit
Target Anywhere, Blend In
Choose IPs by country, city, or ZIP across 195+ countries, so you collect the public data each region serves and read as a real local user, seeing exactly what customers there see.
benefit
Clean Pools, Trusted Ground
We manage how our addresses are sourced and retire flagged ones, so your requests start from cleaner reputations and draw fewer blocks and CAPTCHA challenges.
